In order to guarantee the safe operation of campus communication equipment, Network and Informatization Office (short as NIO), together with the Fire Safety Management Office and Logistics Group, in response to the problems found during the inspection of the mobile communication base station on the roof of Yunyuan Student Canteen building, held a meeting about the rectification measures of the base station. This comes after multiple demonstration meetings about the base station machine rooms, requiring China Tower and China Mobile to adjust the base station as per the safety management requirements of HUST.
At the same time, NIO has communicated with some organizations that have set up base stations in the university, such as China Tower, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicon, Cernet, CBN, etc., requiring them to pay high attention to and ensure absolute safety of their base stations and machine rooms on campus. NIO has issued a Notice on Ensuring Safety Management of Communication Machine Rooms and Base Stations of HUST to all these companies, in which we have put forwards specific requirements, such as requiring them to provide us the list of communication machine rooms on campus, clarify responsible persons, report the safety responsibility system of their base stations and machine rooms on campus, implement a safety lock-out & tag-out system for their equipment rooms, provide monthly inspection records of their base stations and equipment rooms and sign a safety responsibility letter, etc.
NIO will continue to enhance the basic management of campus communication security, establish a linkage mechanism with the Fire Safety Management Office, inspect the base stations and equipment rooms on campus regularly and ensure their safe operation.
