The Sixth Cyber Security Publicity Week was held in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government from September 16 to 22, 2019. When it comes to cyber security, it's not just a matter of state affairs, but also a matter of everyone's vital interests. Now, let's sort out how to safeguard our privacy security in the daily learning, work and entertainment through internet.
I. Protecting against computer viruses and malware
We know that biological viruses can parasitize in the cells and proliferate continuously, which is harmful to human health. A computer virus is a piece of malicious code that "parasitize" in computer programs and are able to constantly replicate itself, and spreads among different computers through the network, thereby destroying the function and data of computers. Previously, the infamous "Worm.WhBoy.cw" virus and WannaCry blackmail virus have caused immeasurable losses to numerous computer users. Moreover, at the same time when the malicious software divulges the privacy and data of users, it tries to prevent the users from removing them in various ways.
Methods in protection against virus and malware:
1. Install antivirus software on your computer and scan it regularly;
2. Do not download or install software from unknown sources;
3. Update the operating system patches timely;
4. Cultivate the awareness of internet security.
II. Setting complex passwords
In daily life, bicycles, doors and safe boxes must be opened with keys. Keys make it difficult for lawbreakers to steal our property and pry into our privacy. Being similar to the keys in life, passwords can prevent others from stealing our network accounts. Network security problems such as account being stolen, information disclosure and privacy being stolen are mostly caused by the use of weak passwords, which refers to passwords made of a simple combination of numbers, combination of numbers same to the account, adjacent keys on the keyboard or common names that are easy to be decoded.

Methods of setting complex passwords:
1.A password should include capital and lower-case letters, numbers and special characters;
2. Try to set a longer password; Don't use personal information as part of a password;
3. Do not use English words or Chinese Pinyin as a password;
4. Change the passwords regularly.
III. Preventing phishing
Phishing refers to an attacker using a bait (e.g. spoofed emails, fake websites) to lure users to be cheated. This type of deception is very similar to fishing in the real life. Generally, phishing uses social engineering principles to cheat users. For example, we often receive fraud messages or junk emails such as "congratulations on your winning of a lottery". Besides, the criminals may forge a website similar to Taobao and register a similar domain name to cheat users, steal privacy and defraud property.
Methods of guarding against phishing:
1. Do not trust text messages or emails from strangers;
2. Do not transfer money online without confirmation;
3. Do not click on links from unknown sources;
4. Report fake websites in time;
5. Do not accept invitations from strangers;
6. Do not disclose your privacy information, such as name, age, school, home address, etc.;
7. Report to your parents or teachers in time in case of any suspicious situation.
