On the afternoon of October 18, the second round of expert demonstration meeting themed HUST's 14th Five-Year Plan for Informatization Development was held in the South Six Building. On this meeting, the experts unanimously agreed that the Plan was approved.
At the meeting, Wang Shixian, Director of the Network & Informatization Office of HUST, reported on the preparation and main content of HUST's 14th Five-Year Plan for Informatization Development. After that, experts questioned and discussed the Plan, and put forward specific opinions and suggestions.
The expert group stated that HUST's 14th Five-Year Plan for Informatization Development summarized the main achievements and existing problems of its 13th Five-Year Plan for Informatization Development, and analyzed the opportunities and challenges faced. After the guidelines, construction principles and development goals were clarified, the Plan included the Three-capability Improvement Plan and identified the main tasks of the Nine Major Projects. The expert group was convinced that the Plan had closely followed the principles of the relevant documents of the State and the Ministry of Education on network security and informatization, and had also been in line with the 14th Five-Year Plan of HUST and the HUST's informatization reality. Therefore, it is forward-looking, advanced and feasible. Based on sufficient research, the Plan is well-targeted, comprehensive, focused, and well-structured. Besides, the tasks in the Plan are all specific, and the main indicators are clearly quantified. So it is practical and instructive for the HUST's 14th Five-Year Plan on informatization. The experts unanimously agreed that the Plan was approved. At the same time, experts suggested that the university implement safeguard measures and clarify the responsibilities of related departments and units to ensure the smooth implementation of the Plan.
Wei Xiaoyun, Deputy Director of the Office of Development Planning and Disciplinary Construction, presided over the meeting and made a summary. She thanked all the experts for their valuable opinions and suggestions on the university's 14th Five-Year Plan for Informatization Development. She also stated that the university would carefully study and fully consider these opinions and suggestions, further improve the Plan and promote its implementation to better serve the university's overall development goals and upgrade the university's informatization development level during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
The host of this online meeting invited Informatization experts from universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Nankai University, Xiamen University for demonstration. Zhang Xiaoping, Director of the Informationation Office of Tsinghua University, served as the leader of the expert group.
