To all departments and scientific research teams:
In order to support the talent cultivation and scientific research and development of HUST, we propose to establish a "Public Service Platform for Scientific Computing" to provide high-performance computing services for our scientific research teams and gradually meet their computing demands. To complete our "14th Five-year" informatization development planning and rationally plan the scale of supercomputing, we will investigate and research the situation and demand of scientific computing software and hardware resources across the university.
I. Objects of investigation
Secondary units and scientific research teams with scientific computing demand in HUST.
II. Content of investigation
1. Scientific computing hardware and software resources that have been provided for scientific research teams, including server configuration, storage capacity, commercial computing software and their authorization, etc.
2. Demand of scientific research teams for scientific computing hardware and software resources during the "14th Five-year" planning, mainly including the number of CPU cores required for a single operation, maximum memory of a single node, storage capacity, total calculation per year and commercial computing software, etc.
III. Way of investigation
Online investigation (please log on the online service hall and fill in the investigation form, website: http://ehall.hust.edu.cn/infoplus/form/CSZXXQDC/start ). This investigation form shall be filled in by a person specially assigned by the research team of each college. Each team may only complete one form. Repeated filling is not allowed.
IV. Deadline
This investigation ends on December 3, 2020 (Thursday).
